Feller Power Cords | Commercial Case Study

Project Snapshot

  • System Size: 110.58 kW
  • Annual Production: ~141,903 kWh
  • Energy Offset: ~59%
  • ROI: 11.2 years
  • Primary Objective: Reduce operational costs and support sustainability goals
  • Installation Type: Roof-mounted

The Client & Operational Context

Feller Power Cords is a multinational company with a local presence in Leland. They were motivated to reduce operational costs while making a sustainable energy choice aligned with corporate responsibility goals. The challenge was implementing a solar system that would generate meaningful energy savings, integrate with existing operations without disruption, and demonstrate a commitment to sustainability.

The Challenge

Key challenges included designing a system large enough to meaningfully offset energy costs, optimizing rooftop space for panel placement, and ensuring the installation integrated seamlessly with existing operations. The facility wanted reliable energy production to maximize long-term savings while maintaining uninterrupted day-to-day manufacturing and administrative processes.

The Strategy

Optimized Solar Design

We sized the system at 110.58 kW using 228 panels to maximize rooftop capacity while ensuring optimal solar exposure throughout the year.

Operational Integration

Installation planning prioritized minimal disruption to manufacturing and office activities. Equipment placement and staging were coordinated to maintain continuous facility operations.

Sustainable Alignment

The system was designed to offset a significant portion of electricity usage and support the company’s sustainability objectives, reducing the carbon footprint and demonstrating environmental leadership.

The Solution

The installation includes 228 high-efficiency solar panels generating 141,903 kWh per year. The system offsets 59% of the facility’s annual electricity usage. By connecting the solar array directly to the facility’s energy infrastructure, Feller Power Cords benefits from reduced utility costs, predictable long-term energy expenses, and a measurable contribution toward corporate sustainability goals.

The Results

Financial Impact

The solar system is projected to save Feller Power Cords $258,895 over 25 years by offsetting utility costs, with about an 11-year ROI. The facility achieves predictable energy spending, reduced reliance on grid electricity, and improved operational budgeting.

Operational Impact

Solar energy now powers a significant portion of daily operations, reducing demand charges and stabilizing energy costs. The system was installed with minimal disruption to ongoing operations, ensuring continuity in manufacturing and office workflows.

Community Impact

Feller Power Cords’ investment demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability in the Leland community. By reducing the facility’s carbon footprint and supporting renewable energy generation, the project sets a positive example for other local businesses while contributing to broader environmental goals.
